In-Home Newborn Session With Props
Hello Everyone!
I always get asked what is the difference between a studio newborn session and an in-home newborn session. It’s often difficult for parents to choose.
Most of the time in-home sessions consist of lifestyle photos, candid shots and natural poses. Studio sessions on the other hand are fully posed, with the use of different props and photography equipment.
Here at Aida Miri Photography, we have created a new way of doing in-home sessions. Something that gives you the best of both worlds!
Our in-home sessions are mostly lifestyle. In the sense that we will use the natural light available at your home, no studio lighting or solid backgrounds. You will be able to see some of your home environment in the pictures and get a sense of your family’s story and style. But I still like to pose parents and babies, tell them how to stand, where to look and what to do. This method gives a natural but pleasing aesthetic to your final photos.
For the baby the only portion of the session, we will still use natural light, but I will often bring a few wraps, so I can swaddle your baby in cute ways! I bring a couple of props with me, including baskets, blankets, furs, hats and headbands, stuffed animals, etc. So we can capture some of those adorable newborn looks that everyone loves.
I always talk to parents before the session about their styling preferences. Everything is customizable and we can plan the session exactly the way that suits your family.
Here are some samples from a recent in-home session. Parents really wanted to capture their family home instead of close-up shots. They wanted me to include their environment but still capture the emotions. They also asked for props for their newborn, they specifically chose the bear hat and the heart bowl! How cute?! This family purchased our classic newborn package with 15 images.
